Defying Gravity Kaptive 10 requires 10lbs of grip force to release a bottle. This cage boasts 6 unyielding arms that are 120mm (4.7”) tall and wrap around the body. The bottom base supports bottles with a 3 mm thick bottom shelf. The 5 mm rigid upper hook, clenches onto deep-necked bottles resulting in exceptional retention. HOT TIP – Pair with the ICE FLOW OR AQUA FLOW bottles for an additional 2-3 lbs of grip force.

Behind The Design

Not your usual looking cage and for some very good reasons. We call this a straight pull cage, as the bottle can only really be extracted by pulling the bottle straight out from the Kaptive 10 cage. A cage with a 4.5 kg (10 lbs) retention force is a major achievement and requires many proprietary design elements that we cannot disclose. We literally had to start with a clean sheet in order to achieve the design objective. It took many iterations and extensive testing over several years to achieve the goal. The result is that this has been the world’s best selling 10 lbs grip force cage design for over a decade. Ideal for use as an additional bottle using a Dawn to Dusk Bear Hug additional cage attached to a toptube or anywhere else you have room on your bike. Great for use in very tough terrain with slopes up to 15% and obstacles up to 38 cm (15″) high.
